The upgraded water play area at Starlight Riverside Park (星光水岸公園) in Kaohsiung’s Asia New Bay Area (亞洲新灣區) will officially open May 30, with new facilities including water slides, aquatic play equipment, and harbor-view swings.

The city says the plan includes not only shortening the duration of red lights at individual intersections, but also utilizing smart traffic control systems that will adjust entire road corridors to reduce waiting times while maintaining coordinated traffic flow on major roads.

The city said Sunday’s closing program would include a crêpe Suzette chef show by the InterContinental Kaohsiung, a performance by Golden Melody Award-winning singer Lee Chu-hsin (李竺芯), music by French band Kessada, and talks by French content creator Rémy Gils and chef A-Chen.

Coworking space Second Space held a soft opening for its second branch on Qixian 1st Road (Cisian 1st Rd./高雄市新興區七賢一路294號) on Friday. The new location is significantly larger than the original Second Space and includes professional studio facilities, meeting rooms, workstations, lounge areas, and other amenities.

Screenshots shared on social media allegedly showed far higher asking prices from resellers and proxy buyers. In the posts, front-row VIP seats were listed at up to NT$110,000, while other premium tickets were also marked up sharply. Fans reacted with disbelief and anger, with some mocking the prices and others saying the listings showed how serious scalping has become for major concerts.

Festival hours are set for 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, and 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. The city is encouraging visitors to use public transportation, with the site accessible from Weiwuying Station (衛武營站) on the Orange Line via Exit 6.
